Kern Communications owner and operator Merilee A. Kern has been marketing and publicizing multi-industry B2B and B2C programs, products and services since 1994.  Throughout her career, Merilee has strategized, developed, executed and managed innovative MarComm and public relations initiatives that have driven visibility, growth and profitability for the many companies she has served.

Through Kern Communications, a boutique public relations and marketing communications agency, Merilee avails the company's industry-diverse clientele with a combination of entrepreneurial creativity and her breadth of marketing and PR experience both on and offline. She concurrently serves as Chief PR Strategist for Ascendant Group Branding-an industry-leading branding agency that represents top-tier industry thought leaders, including CEOs, authors and speakers and other subject matter experts. For both agencies, among other deliverables Merilee is responsible for strategizing timely and compelling campaign concepts, writing all related communication vehicles, and securing top-tier regional and national press placements across all mediums: online, print, and broadcast TV and radio.

Complementing her agency endeavors, Merilee is an influential media voice and lauded communications strategist, prolific writer and TV/radio personality. As the Executive Editor and Producer of "The Luxe List International News Syndicate," she's a revered branding and trends voice of authority who spotlights noteworthy marketplace change makers, movers and shakers. Through this cross-media platform, Merilee's insights reach millions each month through multiple syndication channels: print and online as well as broadcast TV and terrestrial radio. Dozens of top-tier online and print media outlets publish Merilee's Luxe List feature content and she is a recurring guest with multiple international, national and regional TV and radio programs. This includes the internationally-syndicated "The Jet Set" travel TV program, the nationally-syndicated "Coffee With America" TV program, the nationally-syndicated "The Tech Show", and regional TV programs airing in key DMA markets like Atlanta & Company (#10 DMA), The Morning Blend Tampa/St. Pete (#11 DMA) and others in Las Vegas, Columbus, and more On terrestrial radio, Merilee can be heard on multiple widely syndicated programs each month, including the "Jersey Central" and "Michelle Esswein" radio shows, and she serves as "tech evangelist" for the "All Tech Radio" show.

Merilee is a book author whose fictional children's title, "Making Healthy Choices - A Story to Inspire Fit, Weight-Wise Kids," earned a coveted iParenting Media " Excellent Product" award in both 2006 and 2007 as well as acclaim from Oprah's personal trainer Bob Greene and media personality Sally Jessy Raphael. In addition, Merilee is a highly regarded expert source within the media, contributing expert perspective and commentary such as that for a case study published on, the Wall Street Journal's Center for Entrepreneurs. Her various articles have been featured by distinguished media outlets world-wide.

Prior to founding Kern Communications and The Luxe List, Merilee served a multi-year tenure as Director of Public Relations and Marketing Communications for e-Health leader (NASDAQ:DIET).  Prior to this, she held positions as Marketing Programs Manager, Intranet Video Systems for Concurrent Computer Corporation (NASDAQ:CCUR), Manager, Marketing Communications for Ligos Technology (formerly Integrated Data Systems), Interactive Media Manager at Boca Raton-based WebConnect - a division of leading high-tech direct marketing firm Worldata, and in 1995 launched and operated her own Internet-based business that was sold in 1998.

In January 2007 Merilee was named a Finalist in the 3rd annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business, an international competition recognizing the accomplishments of outstanding women executives, business owners, and the companies they run, which are produced by the creators of the prestigious American Business Awards and hailed by the New York Post as “the business world’s own Oscars.”

Merilee holds a Master of Business Administration degree with a marketing specialty and a Bachelor of Science degree, both earned from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She also received "Marketing on the Internet" certification from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Merilee is currently a member in good standing with Luxury Society, the International Food, Wine & Travel Writers Association, the North American Travel Journalists Association, the International Travel Writers Alliance, the San Diego Press Club, and the National Association of Professional and Executive Women (NAPEW).
